Open Microscopy Environment

Today, the OME Consortium (http://openmicroscopy.org/site/about/development-teams) is proud to release OMERO-4.4.0-RC2.

This release candidate has been through another 2 weeks of serious testing by the OME team. As mentioned for RC1, OMERO-Beta4.4.0 focuses on updates to Permissions, a revamped web UI, and a number of other changes. Full details are available at http://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/ome/m ... OMERO-4.4.0-RC2 is for testing only, and should not be used for production installations. Unlike RC1, RC2 contains the DB upgrade from OMERO4.3__0 to OMERO4.4__0. This is a minimal upgrade that should take only seconds to complete. PLEASE NOTE: do NOT run the upgrade on your production server. Instead create a copy of your database from a DB backup and see how the upgrade goes for you. The primary difference you'll notice is that listing the group permissions ('select ome_perms(permissions) from experimentergroup') will show the new permission settings.
