I noticed this change recently :

Doesn't that solve the exporting problem ? It seems related somehow...

Yes, ticket #3718 is related to ticket #3668. As noted in one of the comments for #3668 (http://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/omero ... #comment:7), the fix for #3718 was expected to also fix #3668, but unfortunately it does not work quite yet. We will continue to add updates to ticket #3668 as appropriate until we are certain that the problem is fixed.
