Hi Folks,

@ Paris, I swear there was a talk that mentioned an OMERO based histology or pathology data set - with rather a large amount f images - that was being used as an atlas and training tool for medical students and practitioners alike - can anyone recall the details?

failing that, can I get some examples of (especially public) data sets that I can demonstrate - (target audience might be more interested in Xray and MRI than cells)

thanks....

Hi Paul

We've got several public sites listed on the front page of our website ("Sites powered by OME technology" in the sidebar on the right), some are also listed here.

I think the Paris speaker you're referring to is Olivier Debeir. His talk and most of the others can be downloaded: http://downloads.openmicroscopy.org/pre ... ris-Talks/

You might also be interested in browsing through the rest of the presentations/poster from past meetings: http://downloads.openmicroscopy.org/presentations/

If you're particularly interested in looking at OMERO as a teaching tool ("Virtual Microscope") we've got an internal demo server- get in touch if you want to have a look at it.

If that's not sufficient and you're looking for medical imaging data sets try searching for medical imaging challenges, e.g. http://grand-challenge.org/ Many of these provide data sets for comparing biomedical image analysis algorithms.
