contact to discuss 3i/Slidebook issues

Hi everyone,

You might remember that during the OME Users Meeting I've mentioned we've had lots of trouble importing Slidebook files into our OMERO instance. Bigger files would crash the server, and most of the time even the successful imports would not have any pixel data accessible from OMERO.

Apparently 3i seems to be doing some work on it. The server crashes are gone with the newest version (and imports take a fraction of the time compared to what they used to), but pixel data is still not working. No thumbnails are generated and trying to view the images returns a blank screen.

They don't seem to understand why that's happening and asked me if I could put them in contact with someone in the OMERO team. Who should I reach out to in that case, and would you mind sending me their email address via PM?

Thanks in advance!

best regards

Erick

Dear Erick,

The open-source side of the core OME team works as one: from day to day we figure who will do what and we try to make our resulting activity as public as we can. That way, regardless of individual availability, responses are typically prompt and the wider community can benefit from any related discussion. Except for when reporting security vulnerabilities, in the first instance technical contact should be exactly via this forum or, in this case, the http://lists.openmicroscopy.org.uk/mail ... ome-devel/ list would also fit. If 3i do need an assigned support contact for private discussions then they may wish to investigate the commercial support offered by Glencoe Software at info@glencoesoftware.com.

Cheers,
Mark

Excellent! I've forwarded this thread and the mailing list address to them. Fingers crossed this gets solved, thanks again!

Great: good to know that there will probably be an improved reader coming down the line in due course!
