I am trying to install omero.server locally. I followed all the instructions in the website but when I run omero shell I get the following

MacBook-Air:omero.server icaoberg$ bin/omero shell
Fatal Python error: Interpreter not initialized (version mismatch?)
Abort trap


I tried to find a solution for the problem. I noticed a post from someone who had the issue when upgrading to Python 2.6 and the solution was to use Python 2.5. I am currently using 2.7 and 2.6. Should I install 2.5 to get it working?

If you're using Python 2.6 or 2.7 you must compile Ice 3.3.1 yourself. The packages from ZeroC will be useless to you. How have you installed the Python version you are currently using?
