Hi all!
I'd like to have root as the owner of my Omero installation folder and only the necessary sub-folders like var owned by the user who runs the Omero server (or with satisfying privileges). I think that's more like standard server applications are doing it, the program files are owned by root and only the work and sometimes configuration folders are owned by dedicated system accounts that run the app.
It seems to work this way but during bin/omero db script I got a message the installation folder is owned by root and I have to change it - so I changed it, ran bin/omero db script as the new owner and changed the owner back to root except for the var folder. I know can run omero as user omero who owns the var folder.
Any comments? Bernhard
PS: I'm using Omero4.1
