dropbox import of zvi fails

Postby ebbwdan » Fri Jul 12, 2013 3:47 am

Hi!

I have just started testing out the (awesome) Dropbox feature of Omero.fs (4.4.8) and I have used it successfully to import tiffs. We have set up a samba server to allow us to use Dropbox to import images from our microscope computers and again this works with tiffs but fails when I try to import an image saved as a ZVI within AxioVision. The DropBox log file tells me the import failed and master.err tells me that the file was unreadable. The weird thing is that I can successfully import the same ZVI file with Insight. I am using the default template.xml for DropBox so presumably it should import any format supported by Bioformats? Suggestions?

Many thanks!

Cheers,

Dan.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the feedback on DropBox! We've just done a quick test here of a couple of zvi files using DropBox on a 4.4.8 server running on Mac OS and they import okay.

So, it would be useful to get the relevant logs from you if possible. If you could email a zip of the log directory following a failed DropBox import that would be very helpful. It might also be useful to have a failing zvi image if that is possible. I'll drop you a private email to sort out that.

Cheers,

Colin

Hi Dan,

After looking at the privately sent log files it appeared that the zvi files were not being imported due to a permissions problem. Dan confirmed that the tiff files were being saved as read-write while the zvi files were being saved as read-only.

Might this also be the cause of the problems in your own import client in viewforum.php?f=6 ?

Cheers,

Colin
