interpolation in insight image viewer

Postby ebbwdan » Wed Jul 16, 2014 1:29 am

Hi

Just wondering if there is a way to turn off the interpolation in the image viewer in Insight. I have an image consisting of 128x128 pixels (from a STORM image acquisition) and the interpolated view looks pretty dodgy. In the webclient viewer zooming far enough seems to switch off the interpolation - this does not happen in Insight though.

Cheers,

Dan.

Hi Dan,

just to clarify the issue: Do you really mean the image viewer or the image shown in the preview panel on the right-hand side? Because with 128x128px images the image viewer is opened with a default zoom level of 100%, i. e. it shows the images as it is, without any interpolation.

Cheers,
Dominik

Hi Dominik,

Correct, I mean in the image viewer.

Actually each image which easily fit's on the screen without too much scrolling needed, should open with a zoom level of 100% (= no interpolation). Could you tell me what the default zoom level (on the bottom right) of this image is directly after opening the image with the viewer?

I think Dan is not so much asking about the default zoom level when the viewer is opened, but whether it's possible to zoom in without interpolation of the zoomed image (simply make the original pixels bigger).

On many imaging applications, it's possible to choose whether you interpolate when zooming or not.
This option is not available in Insight (as far as I know) but would be a useful feature to add.

Hi Will and Dominik,

Will, that is exactly what I was asking! I could find no way in Insight of disabling the interpolation and it would be great if it could be added!

Cheers,

Dan.
