32 bit tiff files

Postby robpumphrey » Thu Apr 30, 2015 1:57 pm

As others have noticed, OMERO does not create thumbnails of TIFF files that have pixel type = 32 bit float.

Is handling images of this type on the roadmap?

How are other users handling this type of file? I can imagine preprocessing files before ingesting into OMERO to change the pixel type from 32bit float to 8bit uint, but is that good practice?

Thanks

Rob

Hi Rob
Which version of OMERO are you using?
we have added support for 32-bit and float since version 5.0.7 http://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/supp ... story.html
or are you using file that we failed to render?

Regards

We are using 5.0.8.

I will have to do a bit more of an investigation, but the file have now never manages to ingest into the server and a java process java.... -jar lib/server/blitz.jar .. is left consuming 100% CPU.

Thanks for the feedback
It looks similar to an issue a local user has recently reported.
We are currently investigating the problem, and we hope to have it fixed in the coming 5.1.2 version
