Trouble with first time login (Omero on Ubuntu 14)

Hi guys.

I reinstalled OMERO.server (because some updates-upgrades went wrong) and cannot login(tried from Webclient and Insight). Server itself is running fine database aswell. Only problem is login when i'm trying to get in as "omero system user". I tried to add user .... bin/omero user add .... but cannot get past password for "omero system user".
Possibly I don't see the forest behind the trees. What i'm I missing?

Sorry to hear of your troubles! Your server should be writing a Blitz-0.log file. Could you try again to log in, tell us exactly what time you tried, then zip up and upload that file for us to http://qa.openmicroscopy.org.uk/qa/upload/ ? Also it would be great if you could paste us the output from, bin/omero admin diagnostics

Can you tell us any more about the failed upgrades? Between what versions were they? Did they include related software like PostgreSQL?

About failed upgardes ... I was trying to migrate from Apache to Nginx and during that process some kind of library conflict happened (don't remember exactly which libraries where conflicting). Unsuccessfully tried to fix it and decided to reinstall.

Hi Martins,

What walkthrough are you following?

You'll need to log into OMERO with an OMERO account, rather than the 'system user', aka 'operating system user'.

The password for the `root` OMERO account is set when you run the `omero db script` command to create your initial database. e.g. on the Ubuntu walkthrough at https://www.openmicroscopy.org/site/sup ... ero-server

Aaa yeah silly me. By mistake i put OMERO_ROOT_PASS same as OMERO_DB_PASS ... and was trying to login with OMERO_ROOT_PASS which was never registered. So now i can access omero web. Sorry for disturbing. Thanx.
