Copying datasets/projects between groups

Postby hroque » Fri Nov 02, 2012 5:55 pm

Hi all,

I just discovered that when copying/pasting datasets/projects between groups it basically functions as move to.
Is it not possible to duplicate our data between groups? I would like to share my data in a collaborative group so it can be viewed/annotated by others but allowing me to keep the original data in my own original group.

Cheers,

Hi,

I'm afraid we don't support the duplication of data that you're wanting at the moment. We're aware of the demand for this feature, but can't tell you when this might be implemented. See https://trac.openmicroscopy.org.uk/ome/ticket/3856

In the meantime, you might want to look at the "share" functionality of the OMERO.web client, which allows you to share particular images with a specified list of users (anyone on the server - not group related) without moving the data from it's original group. Hmmm - I see our user docs on this are lacking at the moment. Will try to fix that.
